Crew of officials complete for event in Poland

Three spots were kept open for the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A. Now the full list of on-ice officials is known.

Referees Mikko Kaukokari from Finland, Artur Kulev from Russia and Stephen Reneau from the United States were added to the list of on-ice officials for the event in Katowice, Poland following the last assignments of the IIHF Officiating Committee that also included the officials for the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Russia.

The trio completes the list of seven referees and seven linesmen who will officiate games in the second-highest level of the men’s World Championship program.

Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Japan, Italy and Korea will compete in the event and battle for promotion to the top division for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Germany and France.

All 15 games of the round-robin event will be called according to the four-man officiating system.

The 14 on-ice officials assigned to the tournament come from 13 different countries including one, Artur Hylinski, from host nation Poland.
